C2, 4-4-2T, no.1531 on an up (south-bound) suburban morning service to Moorgate emerging from the 1886 Copenhagen Tunnel. The original 1850 bore is partly obscured by the locomotive and Belle Isle signalbox, whilst on the far right, at a slightly higher level, is the 1877 tunnel used exclusively for goods and mineral trains to and from King’s Cross goods yard out of sight on the far left.
