Southern Style Part Two, London, Brighton & South Coast Railway covers the liveries of that company in the years prior to 1923. It follows on from Southern Style Part One, London & South Western Railway, and will be followed by a further volume on the Southern Railway. This profusely illustrated work is the first publication dedicated to the description of LB&SCR livery and associated topics of the company's style.

For anyone building a model or restoring heritage rolling stock, correct livery, lining and lettering details are essential and this information, particularly the details, are often difficult to find. This book describes how LB&SCR liveries were applied with extensive sections devoted to locomotives, carriages and non-passenger stock, and goods stock. Shorter sections cover topics such as armorial devices, carriage interiors and roofs, departmental stock, headcode boards and regalia, shed codes, lamps, motor train connections, Pullmans and other special liveries, ships, signals, signage, structures and wagon sheets. The book is profusely illustrated with photographs, paintings and drawings such as livery application diagrams. The book includes a full list of references to source material for anyone wishing to pursue the subject further.

Colour swatches are provided on a card insert and these are cross-referenced to paints suitable for modelling. These have been painstakingly produced by John Harvey under the author's direction to ensure they are as accurate as possible.
