Data Protection Act 1984

The HMRS holds personal data in respect of its members on a computer. In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1984, the Society may use such data for any or all of the following purposes:-
a) disclosures to authorised officers of the Society for the purposes of day to day membership administration.
b) the publication from time to time of a membership list for the exclusive use of Members in pursuance of their hobby of model railways and not for any trade purposes. You may elect to have your ADDRESS excluded.
c) disclosures to the computer operator and/or servicer when this is necessary in order to repair or maintain
the computer equipment or programs.

Direct Debit Subscription Payments

If you have a UK bank account, may we also ask that you please consider paying your future annual subscription by Direct Debit. The system is operated entirely confidentially within the Society and helps tremendously with the administrative workload of our volunteer officers. It also saves you being troubled with reminders and the cost of sending cheques at the time of renewal. Please ask for a form below.

Invitation to complete a Gift Aid Declaration

If you are a UK Income Tax payer you can greatly assist the Society by completing a Gift Aid Declaration, at no further cost to yourself. The Society is able to reclaim sums from the Inland Revenue to help pay for such things as new publications, important photographic collections and related artifacts. There is no commitment to remaining a member for a minimum period of years. The deed will be operative for as long as you continue to be a member or until you stop paying Income Tax.
