The HMRS currently has about 5000 drawings in its old catalogue that is available to the public on CD-ROM in Microsoft Access (97 or 2000) or Excel formats or on paper. Prices, including UK p&p, are £5 for a CD-ROM (please state format required) or £10 for the printed list. For Overseas P&P please contact the Drawings Manager/Officer.

The Society is also the custodian of the extensive Metro-Cammell and Derby Works collections which are in the process of being catalogued.

As this work progresses we are adding information to a database for the web site and this may be consulted: this database does not yet contain all the items from the old catalogue mentioned above. It should however be noted that the new database has been put together from work done by different people, using various systems, over a long period of time and as a result there are inconsistencies in the nature and classification of the information. We are also aware that there may well be errors as not everything has been verified: the source of these errors probably range from mistakes made on the original drawings to things done incorrectly by your webmaster! However we believe that having this database available now, rather than waiting until it is near perfect, will be of benefit to researchers. If you find errors in the database please would you write to our drawings officer (see below) so that corrections may be made.

To search the web database you have two search pages, one will look for items not specifically marked as "overseas" whilst the other searches for items for outside the British Isles.

As the storage of the many thousands of drawings is being organised it is not feasible to access all of them at present to enable copies to be made. Copies of very many are however now available to the public in a range of sizes and prices.
